YouTube sensation Alfie Deyes delights fans with book news

British YouTuber Alfie Deyes, 20, of PointlessBlog delighted his 4.9million fans on Friday (15th August) by announcing that he is releasing a book in September.  By Saturday morning the book had sailed into the No.1 spot on the Amazon bestsellers list ahead of The Fault in Our Stars by John Green, based on pre-orders alone. The Pointless Book, which will go on sale on September 4th, will be the ultimate addition to Alfie’s repertoire of vlogs and videos. Part activity book and part journal, the book is a weird and wonderful mix of games, pranks, jokes and challenges for all to enjoy.

Alfie is a prominent British YouTuber with more viewers of his channel than most primetime television shows.  His PointlessBlog currently attracts 2.7m subscribers and an average 27 million views per month.  He has 1.5m Twitter followers, 1.4m Instagram and 920k Facebook fans. PointlessBlog celebrated its fifth anniversary in July 2014 and #5YearsOfPointlessBlog trended worldwide #1 for 9.5 hours.

The book will feature a free downloadable App, meaning readers can interact with Alfie as they make their way through the book. Linked hashtags and a social media campaign across multiple platforms including twitter, facebook, Instagram and pinterest will mean his following can share their experience of the book in real time and also see how Alfie himself got on with some of the challenges and games.
