TV series ‘Amazon with Bruce Parry’ wins Bafta
Congratulations to Bruce Parry on winning the BAFTA for the Best Factual Series for his BBC 2 Series, Amazon with Bruce Parry.
Made by Cardiff-based production company Indus, the series documented Bruce’s journey from the Peruvian Andes to the Atlantic coast.
Parry described the series as a “team effort”. He also paid tribute to the people of the Amazon for allowing them into their homes to tell their “often traumatic stories” as he reminded the audience of the importance of the loss of the rainforest and climate change.
The series was shortlisted for best Factual Series alongside The Family (Channel 4), Ross Kemp in Afghanistan (Sky One) and Blood Sweat and T-Shirts (BBC Three).
Parry has previously presented the BBC Two series Tribe, where he lived in remote communities and took part in various initiation rituals.
