The album art of Storm Thorgerson

The Taken by Storm exhibition is a great chance to see some of the most memorable and disturbing album covers presented in their best possible form, unencumbered by logos, company addresses and legal detail, enlarged and pristine – big and bold like the music they seek to represent.

Storm Thorgerson has designed covers for over 40 years, far too long some say, working with bands such as Pink Floyd, Muse, Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, The Cranberries Peter Gabriel, 10CC, Alan Parsons, The Mars Volta, Ian Dury, Catherine Wheel and many more. His sleeve designs include The Dark Side Of The Moon, Houses Of The Holy, Technical Ecstasy, Absolution, How Dare You, Frances The Mute, Wish You Were Here, Mr Lovepants, Wake Up And Smell the Coffee, and many others.

The exhibition opens on Thursday 14th May and runs through until the 31st May at the [email protected], Oxo Tower Wharf, Bargehouse Street, South Bank London SE1 9PH. The gallery is open daily from 11am to 6pm and admission to the exhibition is free. For further information on the gallery, please refer to www.coinstreet.org
