A successful launch for Gaywise FESTival® 2014 at Menier Gallery, SE1

SADIE LEE, MATTHEW STRADLING, JOÃO TRINIDADE, JENNY WELTON, MATHIAS VEF, GÖKHAN TANRIÖVER and ENZO MARRA kick-started this year’s prestigious LGBTQI* arts festival, which launched Tuesday 11th November at a private view in the Menier Gallery.

With this year’s theme of Myths and Mythologies, the newly commissioned works showcased throughout GFEST confront the myths and struggles circulating in international lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and intersex communities, both today and historically.

At the launch this week, arts industry experts, critics, online bloggers and editors rubbed shoulders with GFEST 2014 artists, filmmakers and funders; attendees included LGBT community members,  supporters as well as the arts, venue, media and community partners.

Stonewall have teamed up with GFEST 2014 to tackle discrimination. GFEST is now the biggest arts festival in the UK for the LGBTQI communities. The festival is divided into Art, Film, Dance and Cabaret.
