Peter James Awarded the Honorary Platinum Award

At a prestigious event at London’s May Fair hotel, hosted by Mariella Frostrup, Peter James was among the literary royalty honoured at the Specsavers Bestseller Awards, powered by Nielsen Book.

Peter was awarded the Honorary Platinum Award for over 5 million copies sold in the UK in 10 years, earning a place in the 21st Century Hall of Fame of bestselling authors of the last decade.

In his acceptance speech, Peter thanked his late agent and friend Carole Blake for her years of support, his agent Isobel Dixon of Blake Friedmann, his wife Lara and the team at Macmillan. He also championed the work of the Reading Agency, of which he is a Patron, for their important efforts to raise literacy and reading for pleasure in prisons.

Peter James is one of the UK’s most treasured crime and thriller novelists. His Roy Grace detective novels have sold over 19 million copies worldwide, are now published in 37 territories and have had 12 consecutive Sunday Times No 1s. The fourteenth in the series, Dead if You Don’t, is due for publication in May 2018 and Peter’s much-anticipated next standalone novel, Absolute Proof, is due for publication in October 2018.
