National Champion IglooBooks nominated for European Business Award

IglooBooks, the fast growing UK publisher, was selected as a National Champion in the European Business Awards.

Now in its eighth year, the European Business Awards recognise and reward excellence, best practice and innovation in companies across the European Union.

IglooBooks competed with some of the best businesses in the nation for the honour of representing the UK in The Import/Export Award. The list of National Champions for the UK also includes other major British companies such as Marks and Spencer, British Airways, Channel 4 Television Corporation, Dairy Crest, Expedia, and Admiral Group.

The Import/Export Award goes to the organisation demonstrating outstanding performance in three specific categories: continuous growth in the import and export of goods, expansion into new markets and improvement of market position in the face of competition.

Formed in 2003, IglooBooks publishes adult and children’s books which are sold nationally through some of the UK’s largest commercial outlets. Its books are now published in 33 languages and sold in 55 countries. IglooBooks has also been recognised as one of the UK’s fastest growing companies in the Sunday Times Fast Track 100.

John Styring, CEO at IglooBooks, commented: “We’re very proud to be selected to represent the UK as a National Champion. The European Business Awards is widely recognised as the showcase for Europe’s most dynamic companies and we would like to express our gratitude for the continuing support and loyalty of all our customers who have made this triumph possible.”

A panel of judges made up of Europe-wide business leaders, academics and entrepreneurs will view the National Champions’ videos, and award the best of this group the coveted ‘Ruban d’Honneur’ status. Ruban d’Honneur recipients will then go on to the grand final.
