Midas touch makes Amanda Owen Sunday Times Bestseller

Midas PR’s publicity campaign for the paperback of A Year in the Life of the Yorkshire Shepherdess has resulted in the book being listed in the Sunday Times top ten Bestseller list for the past two weeks. Coverage including feature interviews in The Guardian, Daily Telegraph, Mail on Sunday and Sunday Times, as well as broadcast appearances on BBC Breakfast, BBC Radio 2, BBC Radio 4 and BBC London and front cover interviews in magazines including Countryside, Countryman and The Big Issue, have all helped to propel the book to the top of the charts.

A modern day James Herriot, Amanda Owen runs a two thousand acre  hill farm in Swaledale in North Yorkshire, fifty miles from the nearest large town. She is a full time shepherdess tending a thousand sheep and has nine children with farmer husband Clive. Not to mention chickens, pigs, cows, horses and an uncontrollable goat and a vole who has taken up residence in the living room. And she couldn’t be happier. Her life is dominated by the seasons, feeding, clipping, dipping, herding, rescuing and lambing her flock in one of the most remotely beautiful yet tough spots in the country.

Amanda is the author of two top-ten bestsellers The Yorkshire Shepherdess and A Year in the Life of the Yorkshire Shepherdess both published by Macmillan.
