MIDAS secure national coverage for SAS: Italian Job by Damien Lewis
Midas PR have secured multiple pieces of high profile national coverage for the paperback publication of SAS: Italian Job by the international bestselling author Damien Lewis, published by Quercus.
In the hard-fought winter of 1944, the Allied advance through northern Italy stalled on the fearsome mountain defences of the Gothic Line. Two men were sent in, as part of a last-ditch effort to break the deadlock. One was SOE agent Captain Mike ‘Wild Man’ Lees, a seasoned clandestine warrior almost without compare. The other was maverick SAS commander Major Roy Farran, DSO, MC, who – unwilling not to lead his men from the front – parachuted behind the lines against all orders. Their mission: to raise a polyglot army of Italian partisans, escaped Russian POWs, former French Foreign Legionnaires and even German deserters, to lay waste to the enemy’s impregnable Army headquarters, killing the top Nazi Generals based there. If the daring mission succeeded, the Gothic line would fall. If it failed, few would return alive.
The paperback of this thrilling account of SAS operation features additional content including an unearthed fax which shed light on the treatment of the SOE agent Captain Mike ‘Wild Man’ Lees after the Operation, and which was placed as an exclusive with The Sunday Telegraph
In addition, a double-page exclusive interview with Mike Lees’ daughter Christina Bueno was placed with The Daily Express.
Reviews of the paperback followed in the TLS and The Daily Mail, which included the book in their Must Reads and The Daily Mail also requested Damien for their popular author slot What Book, which ran earlier this month.
Later this summer an exclusive feature and review will be running in Britain at War magazine and broadcast interviews have also been secured with Sky News: Sunrise, BBC Radio 5 Live: Up All Night and Talk Radio.
