Midas PR to promote Windham-Campbell Prizes
Windham-Campbell Prizes appoints for the first time a UK based public relations firm to promote their annual English-language awards which celebrate incredible literary achievement from around the globe.
London, 6 August 2019: Midas Public Relations, the UK’s leading independent communications agency for books, publishing, culture and the arts, are the first public relations company outside of the United States to be appointed by Windham-Campbell Prizes after a competitive three-way pitch.
Midas PR will work alongside Windham-Campbell Prizes and Yale University to deliver a high-profile international media campaign that generates widespread consumer and trade awareness of the annual Windham-Campbell Prizes, their celebration of literary achievement from around the globe and the life-changing impact on each of the eight winners who are awarded a prize value of $165,000 each.
Michael Kelleher, Director of Windham-Campbell Prizes, said about choosing to work with Midas PR: “The Windham-Campbell Prizes are a global writer’s prize, but it is not a book prize. We were looking for a firm that understood intuitively how that makes us special. Midas gets it, and we feel confident in their ability to frame our story and share it with the world.”
Georgina Moore, Director of Books & Publishing at Midas PR, said: “To be able to work with the Windham-Campbell Prizes is such an honour and it is the kind of account I dreamed of having the opportunity to work on when I moved to Midas four months ago. Truly global and diverse the Windham-Campbell Prizes reward a writer for their body of work and because the prize money is significant, they truly enable a writer to continue to devote their life to writing.”
