Larkin25 / Celebrating Britain’s favourite poet in 2010
Larkin25 launches this month as a year-long campaign thoughout 2010 to celebrate and commemorate the life and work of Philip Larkin, 25 years after his death.
Supported by Hull City Council, The Philip Larkin Society, Visit Hull & East Yorkshire, and the University of Hull, Larkin25 will include special events, broadcasts, the creation of a Philip Larkin statue in Hull, and a newly created ‘Larkin Trail’ around the area that Britain’s favourite poet knew and loved.
Midas has been chosen to run the PR campaign for Larkin25, with coverage already generated including features on BBC 2’s The Culture Show, BBC Radio Coventry and BBC Look North, and in The Daily Telegraph, Sunday Times, Yorkshire Post, London Evening Standard, Birmingham Post, The Guardian’s Northerner Newsletter, Coventry Telegraph and Hull Daily Mail.
The year of events will also be featured on BBC Breakfast (to be aired 12th January), and features are also confirmed in The Independent, Glasgow Herald, and Waterstone’s Books Quarterly.
