Escape From Evil – published today
Escape From Evil, Cathy Wilson’s debut book is published today. It’s the extraordinary true story of a woman who survived marriage to one of Britain’s most notorious serial killers, Peter Tobin.
Writing with complete honesty, Cathy describes how this caring man, who at first appeared so normal, swept her off her feet before becoming at first controlling, then abusive, and how she found herself under the control of a frighteningly violent husband.
Cathy eventually, for the sake of her young son Daniel, found the courage to escape. Then, as she turned on the television in 2006, she screamed with horror when a familiar face appeared on the news. Peter Tobin, her ex-husband, her son’s father, was a serial killer.
Peter Tobin was sentenced to life for the rape and murder of Angelika Kluk in Glasgow in 2006. The remains of Vicky Hamilton and Dinah McNicol who both went missing in 1991 were subsequently found at his former home in Margate. Tobin was convicted of their murders in 2008 and 2009 respectively and is currently serving a sentence of life imprisonment. His potential involvement in a number of unsolved murders is still being investigated.
