Did these Curious Creatures inspire Pokemon Go characters?
You may have been searching your local streets for Pokemon on Pokemon Go but have you ever looked in the shallow waters of the Indian Ocean, the Tasmanian desert and the forests of Bolivia? These are the places you might catch a real-life Pokemon, or at least a creature that strikingly resembles one, according to bestselling illustrator, Millie Marotta.
In her new book ‘Curious Creatures: A Colouring Book Adventure’, Millie uncovers some of the world’s most peculiar and visually fascinating animals from mammals, birds, reptiles, fish, amphibians and invertebrates, through 72 mesmerising new illustrations for you to colour in; 12 of which have an uncanny resemblance with some of our favourite Pokemon.
These include the Psyduck, whose real life twin is the Duck-billed Platypus, the Pidgeot which looks like the Amazonian Royal Flycatcher and Eevee the Pokemon, who appears to take after the Fennec Fox.
