Call for submissions to the Paul Foot Award
The Paul Foot Award for Campaigning Journalism is now accepting entries. Sponsored by Private Eye and The Guardian, and now in its seventh year, the award honours campaigning journalism in the UK in memory of revered investigative journalist Paul Foot.
Submissions will be accepted for material that has been published in a UK newspaper or magazine, or on a website, between 1st September 2010 and 31st October 2011. No broadcast material is eligible. The entry form is available to download on Private Eye’s website.
Individual journalists, teams of journalists or entire publications may enter, and entries will be considered for anything from single pieces to entire campaigns.
The overall winner will be awarded £5,000, and five runners up will each receive £1,000, at a ceremony to be held in Central London in February 2012. The shortlist will be announced in January 2012.
The judging panel for the 2011 award comprises Brian MacArthur (Chair), Ian Hislop (Private Eye), Alan Rusbridger (The Guardian), Bill Hagerty (British Journalism Review) and Clare Fermont.
