Artes Mundi shines at the CIPR 2015 Cymru Wales PRide Awards


Artes Mundi, the UK’s premier prize for contemporary art, has scooped gold and silver awards at the 2015 Cymru Wales PRide Awards, announced by the CIPR on Friday 16th October in Cardiff. 

Artes Mundi recieved Gold in the Best Use of Social Media category for the Artes Mundi 6 digital campaign, run in associated with Cardiff-based digital-agency Jam Jar PR, and Silver in in the Arts, Culture or Sport Category for the breakthrough Artes Mundi 6 campaign run by Artes Mundi and Midas PR. 

Highlighting the strategic strength of the Artes Mundi 6 PR campaign, the CIPR judges stated: “The standout campaign example of the Artes Mundi 6 campaign demonstrated that clear strategic planning and measurable objectives for PR campaigns can lead to stellar and demonstrable outcomes which, in this case, had a direct £2m benefit to the Welsh economy.”

For Artes Mundi 6 Midas PR were tasked with raising brand awareness nationally for the Wales based prize as well as positioning the prize as one of the UK’s leading contemporary art prizes and exhibitions. Midas generated a breakthrough year of coverage for Artes Mundi securing wide-spread coverage in National print and broadcast media.

The Shortlist for Artes Mundi 7 was announced in September this year. The 7 short-listed artists will take part in a major exhibition of formative and new works which will run from 21st October 2016 to February 26th 2017 at National Museum Cardiff and Chapter, Cardiff. For Artes Mundi 7 there will also be an extended programme across the city in partnership with other organisations.
