Publication of Short Story Writer Mary McCluskey’s First Novel

Mary McCluskey is a well respected short story writer whose work has been published in Story Quarterly, London’s Litro, The Atlantic, The London Magazine and S Magazine. Today her first novel, Intrusion, is published by Little A (Amazon Publishing) backed by a strong publicity and marketing campaign. Intrusion has been part of Amazon’s Kindle First initiative (available for free to Amazon Prime customers the month before publication) and goes on sale today with a total of 71 customer reviews and an average of 4 stars.

Intrusion is a well written psychological domestic thriller which explores grief, jealousy and social power. While Kat and Scott Hamilton are locked in their grieving process they meet an old school friend of Kat’s, Sarah Cherrington who has become wildly successful. Sarah wants to rekindle her friendship with Kat but it soon becomes apparent that she has ulterior motives. Sarah is taking an old schoolgirl rivalry into the world of adulthood and is beginning to intrude into every aspect of Kat and Scott’s lives. The book has a haunting Gone Girl vibe and is at once heartfelt and gripping.

An exclusive short story by Mary will be appearing in My Weekly magazine in August, giving readers a taster of the astute, sensitive writing in Intrusion.
