Midas PR is looking for a new arts intern!
Midas Public Relations is looking for a creative and dynamic individual to join our visual arts team on our six month paid internship programme starting on 30th September. This is an exciting opportunity for a talented graduate to support the visual arts team on international PR campaigns for some of the most prestigious artists, art galleries, museums, arts festivals and awards in the UK and beyond. Clients they can expect to work on include Saatchi Gallery, Opera Gallery, Artes Mundi, The Box Plymouth, Boogie Wall Gallery, Ake Festival Nigeria and Ai-Da Robot amongst others.
The role will require a strong team player with a huge passion for the arts and an understanding of the UK’s leading art galleries, institutions and major artists. Creative, enthusiastic and well-organised, as a self-starter, they will thrive in a busy environment. We need a responsible, enthusiastic graduate who is really committed to the job and will relish being part of fast paced team and can hit the ground running.
The successful candidate will be trained to build and run a PR campaign from beginning to end, including; PR strategy and planning, writing effective and convincing copy for press releases and email pitches, building media lists, running PR software, social media, day to day liaison with arts journalists, project management, creative brainstorming, attending journalist and client meetings, setting up publicity schedules including interviews, press views, award ceremonies and gallery openings. They would also be expected to attend a number of client related events ranging from gallery launches, art fairs, award ceremonies and festivals. From the very beginning of the placement we would aim to give them responsibility on team accounts, such as running a regional, influencer or magazine campaign as part of a wider campaign.
