Making the Headlines: The Stylist by Rosie Nixon

Midas worked closely with the marketing team at MIRA to launch Rosie Nixon’s debut novel The Stylist, aiming to build on her reputation as a successful journalist and joint editor of Hello! magazine and to present her as an exciting, debut novelist with a unique insight into the world of fashion and celebrity culture.

The campaign targeted key publications in digital, broadcast and print media which cover commercial fiction and we successfully secured a range of coverage for The Stylist. To kick off the campaign, Mail on Sunday You Magazine ran an exclusive written piece by Rosie about what happens behind the scenes on the red carpet, accompanied by an extract from the book. This was followed by reviews in women’s magazines Grazia, Heat, Red, Stylist, Glamour, Candis and Prima Baby & Pregnancy; national papers, including the Sunday Express S Magazine and Sunday Mirror, and an interview with Rosie for Sunday Telegraph Stella Magazine’s ‘My Bookshelf’. Rosie also appeared on Sky News Sunrise, as well as regional BBC radio stations London, Essex, Kent and Jersey. This was also backed up by an intensive digital campaign, which included a Blog Tour across popular chick-lit book bloggers. Midas also used Rosie’s launch party at Soho House to generate diary stories with coverage appearing in the Sunday Express and Daily Mail. Rosie will be appearing at the Aye Write Festival in March alongside bestselling novelist Jenny Colgan.

The success of the hardback campaign (the combination of the positive quotes and buzz on social media) will provide a solid starting block for the following paperback publicity campaign and the hotly anticipated sequel to The Stylist.
