Landscape Photographer of the Year 2009
10th December 2009
Winning images from the Landscape Photographer of the Year 2009 to be projected onto outside of National Theatre
To celebrate tonight's book launch for the Landscape Photographer of the Year: Collection 03 (AA Publishing £25) the National Theatre will be projecting images from the book onto the outside of the building from 5pm - 9pm.
Stunning images from around the British Isles will be projected onto the outside of the National Theatre for all to see and will be visible from Somerset House Embankment tube station and all the way down to Westminster Palace. The projections will be timed to coincide with the book launch and private view of the winning and commended images which are being exhibited in the Lyttelton Foyer of the National Theatre.
The exhibition, hosted by the National Theatre and sponsored by Natural England and the National Parks Authority, is free to the public and will run until the 24th of January. Both Natural England and the National Parks Authority are working together with the Landscape Photographer of the Year to promote better understanding of the UK's stunning landscapes and the steps that need to be taken to better protect them
The winner of the Landscape Photographer of the Year 2009, Parisian-born Emmanuel Coupe will be attending the launch where he will receive the £10,000 prize for the best Landscape Photo of the year for his image of the Isle of Sky.
The top 170 images chosen by the judges, including the winning image, are included in Landscape Photographer of the Year: Collection 03 (AA Publishing £25) - a stunning photographic book containing beautiful full colour reprints of the winning and commended entries from the Take a view Landscape Photographer of the Year Award 2009.
