Illustrator Marion Deuchars releases her debut picturebook – Bob The Artist

Congratulations to prolific illustrator Marion Deuchars on the release of her debut picturebook Bob The Artist!

Marion’s hand-lettering and illustration is globally recognised and has graced book covers, advertising campaigns, Royal Mail stamps, the Imperial War Museum and Jamie Oliver’s cookbooks, to name a few. Marion has won multiple international design and illustration awards, was in-house illustrator for the Guardian for years and represented the UK at the World Design Capital 2012.

Marion is a lifelong campaigner for getting children immersed art (her series Lets Make Some Great Art has won multiple awards) and Bob the Artist tells the story of an under-confident blackbird with spindly legs who learns to express himself creatively and build his confidence after discovering his innate artistic talent, impressing his peers by painting his beak in the style of Matisse and Pollock.

You can read more about Marion’s work and the inspiration behind Bob The Artist in her interview with Gurgle here.

The book is available to buy from Laurence King here.
