CrimeFest Announces Star-studded 2017 Line-Up
Anthony Horowitz, Ann Cleeves and Peter Lovesey are among the top names set to speak at this year’s CrimeFest in Bristol, 18th – 21st May. CrimeFest will once again host a stellar line-up of award-winning, bestselling crime fiction authors, as well as hundreds of publishers, agents and lovers of crime fiction over four days of exciting panel discussions and author talks. Since its launch in 2008 CrimeFest has become one of the most popular dates in the crime publishing calendar, with crime fiction aficianados visiting from around the world.
International bestselling author of the Alex Rider series, now a hit film franchise, Anthony Horowitz will be interviewed by Barry Forshaw. Ann Cleeves, who will be interviewed by Jake Kerridge about receiving the Crime Writer’s Association Diamond Dagger Award for excellence in crime writing, and award-winning crime author Peter Lovesey will be interviewed by Martin Edwards
The cover artist behind Agatha Christies iconic book jackets that defined the style of paperback artwork in the 1960s and 70s, Tom Adams, will be in conversation with Christie archivist and expert John Curran, to discuss their co-authored book Tom Adams Uncovered: The Art of Agatha Christie and Beyond.
To celebrate the wave of Icelandic female crime writers making their mark on the publishing industry, CrimeFest is thrilled to host some of the leading authors in the genre. In The Ice Queens Cometh, Jónína Leósdóttir, Yrsa Sigurðardóttir, Sólveig Pálsdóttir and Lilja Sigurðardóttir will discuss the why Iceland has borne a generation of great female crime writers.
Bringing CrimeFest to close will be a debate about which genre holds sway when author of American Noir Barry Forshaw goes head to head with Mike Ripley, author of Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang: The Boom in British Thrillers from Casino Royale to The Eagle Has Landed.
