2009 has been a good year for Bruce Parry. He won an RTS Award in March and went on to win the BAFTA for Best Presenter in April. Both awards were for his ground-breaking BBC2 series Amazon.

In addition to being an award-winning TV Presenter, Bruce is also a writer, adventurer and environmentalist. He has currently written two books to accompany his series' Tribe and Amazon.

His book on Tribe came out in 2007 and went straight into the Sunday Times Top Ten Bestsellers list, with Amazon published a year later to great critical acclaim.

Bruce did full tours of the UK for both books, speaking at the Royal Geographical Society in London, and then in Edinburgh, Bristol, Cardiff and at the Cheltenham Literary Festival where he attracted an audience of 1,800 people.  Strong coverage was achieved in both the national press & broadcast. Publicity included feature interviews in the Daily Telegraph, The Times & The Guardian and across the magazines with serial in The Observer and interviews on Radio 1 - Jo Whiley Show, Radio 2 - Steve Wright Show, Radio 4 - Front Row and Radio 5 Live - the Simon Mayo Programme. Bruce also did interviews on BBC Breakfast, Channel 5's The Wright Stuff, Heart Breakfast with Alan Davies and Capital Breakfast with Johnny Vaughan.

The paperback of Amazon has just been published (see press release attached). It is now available in bookshops and on Amazon.co.uk.
