Making the Headlines: Laurence King Publishing

To celebrate Laurence King Publishing’s 25th anniversary Midas PR implemented a targeted campaign focusing on: building the profile of Laurence King himself, alongside LKP’s key spokespeople; raising awareness of the LKP brand as one of the world’s leading publishers of books on the creative arts, fashion and design; and highlighting the key titles LKP has published over the past 25 years.

With a focus on engaging with LKP’s key audiences via trade and vertical press, Midas worked to secure interviews for Laurence and his team, timed around the 25th anniversary, while also placing news stories, diary pieces and features around the anniversary.

Midas secured a three-page interview for Laurence, a double-page interview for Angus Hyland (Creative Director at LKP), and a ‘My Job in 5’ interview for Elizabeth Jenner (Head of Children’s) in The Bookseller. An in-depth interview with Laurence and Angus was meanwhile published in Creative Review. Opinion pieces authored by Laurence, reflecting on LKP’s past 25 years and looking to the publishing house’s future were placed on BookBrunch and It’s Nice That. Coverage of the 25th anniversary was also secured across trade and vertical press, including on Design Week and Book2Book.
