Making the Headlines: The Red Ribbon by Lucy Adlington

Midas PR ran a campaign for the outstanding YA novel The Red Ribbon by award-winning author and dress historian Lucy Adlington (Hot Key Books). Inspired by the true story of the dressmakers of Auschwitz, The Red Ribbon follows two young girls who become friends in the living hell which was Auschwitz-Birchwood woman’s concentration camp. Poignant, shocking and sensitively told, The Red Ribbon is about hope, love and survival.

Midas placed Lucy’s first full-page feature with the Daily Express and secured a major interview with BBC Radio 4’s Woman’s Hour the following week. Lucy was also featured in The Big Issue and the Yorkshire Post. Reviews ran in Candis, My Weekly, Inside Soap, The Lady, The School Librarian, WI Life and S Magazine (Express). Lucy was interviewed on numerous regional radio stations, including BBC Radio Newcastle, BBC Radio Ulster, BBC Radio York, BBC Radio Berkshire and BBC Radio Tees. She has upcoming interviews with BBC Radio London and Talk Radio. Midas also handled the online campaign which involved a Blog Tour running over eleven popular blogs during publication week.

The Red Ribbon reached Number one in the Amazon charts for Historical YA Fiction and has gone for a second reprint, three weeks after its initial publication.
