Team
Tony Mulliken, Chairman
Tony Mulliken
Heading up the Midas team of 25 PR professionals, Tony Mulliken has been in the PR industry for over 30 years, and - in addition to founding Midas Public Relations with Steven Williams - is responsible for the major development of the company's Award & Trade Fair sector. Work on this includes the introduction of top brands such as the Galaxy British Book Awards and The London Book Fair.
Leading consumer clients Tony has worked with include romance publishing giant Harlequin Mills & Boon - campaigns for which have allowed Midas to spread its PR wings into new areas of great potential. Further to the highly successful Centenary campaign for Harlequin Mills & Boon, Tony facilitated a partnership between Mills & Boon and the Rugby Football Union (RFU) - an unlikely duo which proved popular with the press and public alike.
With his strong contacts in the arts and culture industries, Tony Mulliken looks forward to working with additional arts clients in both the public and private sectors.
Alongside maintaining regular custom at The Ivy, Tony's hobbies outside work include playing squash, tennis and clay pigeon shooting.
Steven Williams, CEO
Steven Williams
Highly experienced in arts, publishing and event PR, Steven Williams established Midas Public Relations with Tony Mulliken in 1990. Since then, he has developed the company into one that has retained its biggest and best clients consistently and enthusiastically over many years, and he is delighted to see a now steadily growing client base.
A self-confessed culture junkie, Steven is forever dropping improving reading on to colleagues' desks. His Top 3 websites include Arts and Letters Daily for its global coverage of matters cultural, Writers Alamanac (Garrison Keillor's wonderful daily slot) and Meteo Italia.
Jacks Thomas, CEO
Jacks Thomas
Jacks Thomas has worked in the corporate and arts public relations sector for over 20 years, joining Midas as a full partner in 2004.
Jacks joined the BBC on graduating and then went into the book world. When running her own consultancy she was tempted by the corporate world and worked for Reader's Digest for six years; starting as Corporate Communications Director in the UK, moving to the US to relaunch their magazine and finally running the PR for 15 countries across Europe as the European Communications Director.
A corporate communications and damage limitation specialist, Jacks runs the corporate division as well as the digital and new business development initiatives. Introducing the Emirates Airline Festival of Literature to the Midas roster was a key highlight of 2008 and is one of a growing number of international clients that Midas represents and an area that Jacks is enthusiastic to develop.
Jacks most enjoys spending time with her family but when she has time for hobbies she is a keen gardener, theatre goer and reader. Crucial to her life are the Today programme and Newsnight.
